UNESCO World Heritage
"The most beautiful buildings in the world": that is how Reinhold Messner described the Dolomites.
The "pale mountains" have been UNESCO World Heritage since 2008. They are not only a landscape — in summer and winter among the finest anywhere — but also a place of real geological and geomorphological importance: here you read the history of an ancient sea floor lifted to over three thousand metres.

Our history
As more guests came to Val Gardena, there was a need to expand what Seceda could offer: a sunny mountain with an interesting gradient. In February 1960 a group of enterprising fellow citizens founded Funivie Seceda SpA.
The two cableways to the summit came first; the chairlifts and ski lifts followed.

La Curta
"La Curta" is the pedestrian connection between the centre of Ortisei (Piazza S. Antonio) and the cable car valley station. More than a million people a year, visitors and locals alike, use it to move around the village.
It is made up of 6 escalators (3 up, 3 down) and 4 moving walkways in a tunnel (2 and 2). Total rise 59 m, total length 295 m. The tunnel is open around the clock; the escalators stop overnight. It is the first connection of this kind and size in the entire Alpine region, and it links Ortisei directly to the Sella Ronda.

Ski bus
The valley station is connected to every Ortisei ski bus line. Some stop right in front of the station, others at Piazza S. Antonio — from there you continue through the "La Curta" escalators.

Arrival
By car. The simplest route is the A22 Brenner motorway: from the south Verona – Trento – Bolzano to Chiusa, from the north Innsbruck – Brenner – Chiusa. Take the "Chiusa / Val Gardena" exit, then the SS242 for about 19 km to Ortisei.
By train. InterCity and EuroCity trains stop at Bressanone and Bolzano; some also at Chiusa. From there a regular bus service (South Tyrol integrated transport) reaches Ortisei in under an hour.
By taxi. Several operators in Val Gardena will take you there quickly and safely.

Parking
For those arriving by car there is a covered garage and a large open car park, both paid: over 250 spaces in total.
On sunny days they are full by mid-morning. That is why we recommend public transport and the timeslot: people who come by bus are not looking for a space, and people who already have a ticket are not in the queue.
